The VanPort Jazz performs big band music ranging from the 20’s through the 50’s, along with some contemporary charts. You will hear hits from Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Buddy Rich, Doc Severinsen, Sammy Nestico, Count Basie, and many others.
This is the last of eight weekly, free Noontime Showcase performances as part of Summer Arts on Main, which feature a wide variety of performers and styles. Suitable for all ages.
NOONTIME SHOWCASE & SUMMER ARTS ON MAIN
During the summer months, Noontime Showcase—a monthly free performance held inside Antoinette Hatfield Hall during most of the year—moves out to Main Street and changes to a weekly schedule. This Noontime Showcase is part of the 2019 Summer Arts on Main series, which runs 11am to 2pm every Wednesday, July 10th through August 28th, with free performances and children’s activities.
Summer Arts on Main Street runs concurrently with the Portland Farmers Market in the adjacent park blocks (Shemanski Park at Park Ave. & Main St.). The vegetables for our “Veggie Derby” have been generously donated by the Portland Farmers Market!
Located outside on SW Main Street, between SW Broadway & Park Ave.- next to Antoinette Hatfield Hall, 1111 SW Broadway Ave., Portland, OR 97205.
In the event of rain, or extreme heat, this event will take place in the Antoinette Hatfield Hall rotunda.
