This is the last of eight weekly, free Noontime Showcase performances as part of Summer Arts on Main, which feature a wide variety of performers and styles. Suitable for all ages. During the summer months, Noontime Showcase—a monthly free performance held inside Antoinette Hatfield Hall during most of the year—moves out to Main Street and changes to a weekly schedule. This Noontime Showcase is part of the 2019 Summer Arts on Main series, which runs 11am to 2pm every Wednesday, July 10th through August 28th, with free performances and children’s activities. Over the past decade, the ensemble has evolved from a local community group focusing on early swing music, to its current roster of 17 talented amateur, semi-professional, and retired professional musicians playing from an eclectic book of some 300 charts. VanPort Jazz is based in Vancouver, Washington, and performs throughout Washington and Oregon. Dance Instructors Joseph and Julieann have a passion for teaching everyone to dance – from teenagers to 90 year olds. The duo have offered classes together for 12 years. Julieann has honed her dancing skills through years of belly dancing, yoga and the creative arts. Joseph has taught ballroom dancing since the age of 18, when he began his dancing career as an instructor for Arthur Murray Studios in Davenport, IA. While at Arthur Murray’s, he took several students on to regional dance competitions in the Midwest, many receiving gold medals.
